WHY GIRLS SHOULDN'T PLAY DRUMS

There has been an increase in the number of girls wanting to learn to play drums recently, we think it is a good time to remind ourselves (and you) about why girls should NOT play drums.

1. They Can't.

Case in point.

2. It's not 'Ladylike'

What a tomboy...

3. They can't hit hard enough

That's just... weak!

4. Drums are a guy's instrument.

How could GIRLS compete with GUYS?

5. Drums are too complex for girls

Wait, what? Is that a blindfold?

6. no Big name artists would get Girls for a gig

Like Lenny Kravits

or BEYONCE

7. girls just might take over

It would only be a matter of time.

Settled.
That proves that.

Geez Cindy, stop kidding yourself.

Olivia Hally at our 2013 event

It's again time to celebrate another year of RMA!

The best way of course, being with Dinner, Drinks and Music. We will be taking over Dizzy's Jazz Bar this year from 6:30pm on Thursday the 16th of October.

RMA AT DIZZYS IN 2013

RMA AT DIZZYS IN 2013

Our annual concert is a great way to experience the best of RMA and give our adult students (Who are the majority at the academy) a chance to share their music to a captive audience.

Good laughs, good drinks and a great time, every year.

This year will be particularly big!

We are certain (as usual) to fill every seat in the house! So booking a table, with Dizzy's directly is our best advice to avoid disappointment.

Best places to learn guitar in Melbourne (In our experience)

More and more we are finding questions coming in for our recommendations for lessons in areas that may be a little far away from Richmond. So we thought it might be a great idea to share our recommendations around Melbourne for top quality guitar lessons in a series of blog posts. We will start off with our recommendations for the other side of the city, the west.

This is by no means an exhaustive list but we can easily say that each recommendation is genuinely a great place to learn. We are glad to send clients in their direction.

Western Suburbs:

Key Music Studios

308 Heaths Rd, Hoppers Crossing, 3029

Key Music Studios, is a little gem that is a stones throw from the ever expanding Werribee Plaza. It is run by Darren Waddell, one of the nicest guys we've met. There are a number of great guitar teachers at the school, including RMA's own Adrian Burruto.

Footscray:

Jen's Music School

Footscray studio: 71 Everard St, Footscray (closest train is West Footscray)

Yarraville studio: 8 Lorne St, Yarraville  (not far from West Gate Bridge entrance)

Jen's Music School is run by Jen Hawley, a lovely person who has created a great school, two in fact! Both have an excellent atmosphere with a number of great guitar tutors.

We hope that helps folks, STAY TUNED as we have more posts on the way.

RMA DINES

The whole RMA crew ventured across the road from the school to 'Koutouki' for dinner one evening but as you will see we had more in mind than just food:

We surprised our restauranteur neighbour, George (infamous in Burnley St) with our own version of his favourite song: Afise Me Mono.

Enjoy!

Also a stack of pics from the night can be found here, at our Facebook album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.666921220046163.1073741836.325860180818937&type=3
